Main Events Only felt wad cartridges can be used this year – if required these will be available for purchase on the day.

Any set of 4 shooters wishing to enter under 2 different team names must complete 1 full circuit before setting out as the 2nd named team. Please note that, as a legal requirement, at least 1 team member must hold a valid gun licence and that they, as team captain, must take responsibility for any persons in their team without a licence.

As in past years, any ties will be decided using the points scored at stands 2; 3; 4; 5 & 1. If the competition remains tied, a sudden death shoot out will be held at the pull trap. 

All those competing for the Youth Cup must be under 16.

Pull Trap Event

This can be treated as a warm up with the play off taking place adjacent to the barbeque area between 3.00 and 3.30 pm. Have as many attempts as you like, but only 3 lives per person can be carried forward to the play-off.

Safety Rules

In the interest of safety, the following rules apply to all competitors and spectators:

  • All guns are to be unloaded unless the competitor is engaging clay targets from within a marked firing box.
  • On the word of command STOP competitors who are firing are to apply their safety catch, keep their gun pointed down the centre of the marked firing arc, and await direction from the Stand Supervisor to UNLOAD.
  • When moving between shooting stands all guns are to remain unloaded and are to be carried in gun-slips or are to be carried ‘’broken open’’.
  • All competitors and spectators are to wear suitable hearing protection* and safety glasses*
  • When moving between shooting stands all competitors and all spectators are to follow the marked routes and are to remain outside all shot and clay danger areas. Click to download SHOOT SITE PLAN
  • No shooter can be  a prohibited person under the Firearms Acts 1968-1997 or they have not been revoked a firearms certificate or had an application for a firearms certificate refused in writing

Each team must sign a form agreeing to comply with the rules BEFORE shooting. 

The Safety Compliance form can be opened and printed from the Register page on this website – Registering online and printing and completing this form early will save you time when you arrive at the shoot as we should have your score cards ready to go.
